Name: Jeff Connally
Job Title: Capital Sales Engineer
Background:
Jeff started his journey in the compressed air industry over 10 years ago, working for Atlas Copco in South Texas. His first role as a service engineer helped him to become very familiar with the Atlas Copco machinery, gaining experience on all compressed air equipment. While working in the US, Jeff specialised in supporting infrastructure, water treatment and power plant companies, including some large Fortune 500 companies.
After nearly 6 years as an engineer for Atlas Copco in Texas, he moved over to the UK and began working for an Atlas Copco distributor in the North West. Jeff further developed his experience and skills, in a new country and role, working in Aftermarket Sales, ensuring his customers compressed air installations were appropriately serviced. He also worked on several high-profile projects, some significant ones being:
- Completely redesigning a compressed air system for a nationwide glass recycling factory
- Fully replacing the air compressors at a research and development facility for a worldwide company

Role:
“My role with Pennine Pneumatics is Capital Sales Engineer, based at the head office in Brighouse. My aim is to build relationships with customers, and find the best solution to support their mission. I don’t see myself as a ‘sales person’, but more as a ‘trusted advisor’, learning the customer’s requirement, and finding the best solution to meet the needs of that business. I hope that my customers would see me as that as well – honest, trustworthy and always seeking the best for them.
“When I was an engineer with Atlas Copco, I found that by taking a little extra time to learn more about the customer’s business, and go that extra mile in delivering value, customers would listen more closely to my recommendations to improve their systems – be it more capacity, or an improvement of their system performance, which in turn generated more opportunities for my Service and Sales teams to add value – and keep a happy customer.”
Most rewarding part of the job:
“Finding a solution that truly helps a customer is so rewarding. What I love about this business is that everything we do is really important – whether it’s a three-person company, or a 10,000-person company that I’m working with, every job is important and deserves the same value and recognition.
“My main priority is serving the customer and seeing a company succeed, grow and thrive from that is a great reward.”
When not at work you’ll find him:
“I love a lot of sports but the main two that I’m involved with are football and scuba diving. Since moving to the UK, I’ve discovered football and become an avid fan of Liverpool, and I play Sunday-league football with a great group of guys. I also volunteer at a step 4 non-league club, Prescot Cables where I do the PA announcing for them, and have also been asked to announce for an afterschool boxing club for their fund-raising Fight Nights.
“I love scuba diving but will need to gain a dry suit certification before braving the cold English waters! Formerly, I refereed American Football for 16 years when I lived in the US – I enjoy judging a contest and making sure things remain fair!”
