Trees are up, jumpers are on, we’ve decked the halls, we’ve scheduled work for those on Christmas shutdowns – but what about the gifts? Well, we are continuing what we started last year.
2021 was another year that started with a lockdown, it’s been uncertain and challenging for many, and for some with no sign of letting up. What our branches would normally spend on corporate gifts we have instead given to local charities.
It is not because our customers don’t deserve a gift, they definitely do, but we know our donations will have a bigger impact than another calendar or reusable mug would.
So who have we supported with our Christmas donation this year?
Brighouse
From our Brighouse Head Office we donated to:
Overgate Hospice
This is a charity close to the hearts of many of our team. Overgate Hospice is an independent charity with a mission to ensure that patients, and those close to them, live with the best possible quality of life.
Oastlers School
Oastlers School is a co-educational school based in Bradford, with 80 secondary school age pupils (11 to 19), who have emotional, social and behavioural needs. The team at Oastlers go above and beyond to ensure their learners have a safe and happy environment in school and we are always blown away by their work.
Leigh
Our team at PPS Leigh have supported:
Willow Project
Willow Project is a registered charity supporting children, young people, and their families in the Wigan Borough who are affected by mental health and emotional issues.
HSP – Helping to Support People
HSP is a charity that helps the homeless, destitute and needy in Leigh and surrounding areas. They are driven by a single goal – to help make the world a better place for the homeless and vulnerable.
PPS Sheffield, Integraflex Yorkshire and Compcon Ltd decided to group together their donations in support of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
Based in Dinnington, Sheffield, Bluebell Wood supports children from across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. They support families who face unimaginable realities every day, helping them to make the most of each moment, whether they have days, months or years together with their child.
The team at Norman Walker in Hull are using their donation to help keep Humber Rescue afloat. Humber Rescue is an independent charity that supplies fast response search and rescue operations on the Humber Estuary. It’s a vital emergency response for the Humber and its surrounding waterways, and is the busiest independent lifeboat in the UK.
To all our customers and suppliers – thank you for your continued support. Your support means we can help these community causes.
We wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2022.
