On 6th October a team of PPS employees will set out to cycle a 41-mile course from our Brighouse Head Office to our Sheffield division, Simm Engineering Group.
The annual challenge sees a mixed ability team push themselves outside of their comfort zones in a bid to raise money for charity. The route from Brighouse to Sheffield is hilly and tough with 3700ft of elevation gain along the way.
41 miles. 3700ft of elevation gain. There will most probably be blood, sweat, tears and some swearing along the way!
Why are we doing it?
This year we are hoping to raise £1000 for Andys Man Club. A charity aiming to halve the number of suicides in men under 45. This is a massive undertaking when you consider that suicide is still the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45.
Andys Man Club started in Halifax as a space for men to talk about their problems without judgement or feeling like a burden. There are now 22 clubs around the country, all taking place on a Monday night and providing a place where #itsoktotalk.
Can you help?
All donations help Andys Man Club to reach that one man who is somebody’s son, friend, brother or dad and just needs a place to talk. If you are able to, please donate on our crowdfunding page here. Thank you.
