The 8th annual Industry Open Day at the National Fluid Power Centre (NFPC) saw over 80 National and International companies come together to showcase the best in integrated systems engineering.
Opened by the NFPC Director John Savage the day included technical lectures, the opportunity to tour the world class training facilities and network with exhibiting companies.
Part of the NFPC Advisory and Strategic Planning Group, Simm are working with the NFPC to help develop training focused on compressed air engineering. An introduction to this was the technical lecture delivered by Andy Kershaw (Simm Engineering Group Technical Trainer) – The importance of Correct Specification for an Efficient Compressed Air System. It may appear to be free, because we are surrounded by it, but when we compress air to utilise it as a means of transmitting power or control, it can be a costly process if the system is not correctly specified to meet the job in hand.
Those attending the exhibition were also able to attend lectures delivered by Moog, Hydac Technology and Lubrizol. Topics focused on strengthening the NFPC strategy of providing integrated systems engineering training for the engineers of the future.
